Brief: To create Zurich's premium destination hotel, to add to the worldwide portfolio of FIVE. The Hotel needs to be a place to party, relax with surprises moments.

 

The first and fifth floor of this project was where we could be even more creative with concepts as they included a chinese restaurant, multiple nightclub bars and a wine bar. These floors were to be much darker and more mysterious that the ground floor, with a hedonistic vibe. The client was also very keen that the bathrooms received as much design attention as any other space. These therefore gave us the opportunity to create really interesting joinery and use unusual finishes.

 

Lighting was extremely important to create spaces that could fit the mood of events. We worked with different lighting designers to create some unique lighting installations so that every space was elevated, including the corridors.

My favourite space was a secret bar that lead to the bathrooms, based around the idea of a James Bond lair. There is more information about this area in the Feature Projects page on my website.
