The FIVE Zurich Hotel was all about creating spaces full of mystery and intrigue. From the beginning of the project the client wanted to have some spaces influenced by James Bond. We therefore developed a secret 'World Domination Bar' to be accessed by an immersive corridor.

 

The corridor is one of the few spaces on the public floors with no natural light. We therefore used this to our advantage to create a full lighting experience for the guests. Inspired by the figures in the opening credits of James Bond movies, we designed 3D bodies emerging from the  walls, lit with EL Glow wire. I created the initial design intent which was then developed and manufacturer by a local company.

 

This then led to the 'World Domination Bar' complete with the world domination map. We wanted the space to be oozing with the sauve sexy glamour typically associated with James Bond. The bar and wall finishes used lots dark and reflective finishes, to keep a luxury feel whilst reflecting the interesting lighting elements.
